Grass-Fed Navajo-Churro Lamb & Mutton Shares

We have whole and half grass-fed lamb and mutton shares available, with orders expected to be ready early to mid-September.

If you’ve never purchased a meat share before, it simply means purchasing a whole or half share of the packaged meat from one of our sheep. You’ll choose how you would like your meat cut and packaged, and it will come back frozen and ready for your freezer.

Our Navajo-Churro sheep are a slow-growing heritage breed, and we give them the time they need to mature naturally. Lambs are typically 12–17 months old, while our mutton comes from mature sheep approximately 18–24 months old.

During the spring and summer, our flock rotationally grazes our pastures here on the homestead. During the winter, we feed high-protein millet hay to help maintain healthy body condition.

Share Size & Pricing

Shares are $12 per lb based on the packaged meat you receive.

Lamb
Whole share is approximately 22–26 lbs. Half share is approximately 10–15 lbs.

Mutton
Whole share is approximately 25–36 lbs. Half share is approximately 13–18 lbs.

These weights are estimates. The final amount will vary depending on the size of the animal and your cut selections.

Custom Butchering

After reserving your share, you will receive a cut sheet to choose how you would like your meat processed. This allows you to select from available options such as chops, roasts, ground lamb, and other cuts. Specialty or more labor-intensive cuts, such as French-trimmed racks and other fancy cuts, will have an additional processing charge.

A $100 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your share and is applied toward your order.

The remaining balance, including applicable processing charges, must be paid in full at before pickup from the butcher. 

Farm pickup is available, or we offer free local delivery within 25 miles.
